I received my Bachelor of Science
degree in Business Administration, with concentrations
in Finance and Real Estate, from California State University
Sacramento in 1979, and my Juris Doctorate from McGeorge School of Law, University
of the Pacific in 1991. In law school, I was a finalist in both the oral and
written Moot Court competitions.
Upon graduation in 1991, I was admitted to practice
law in California as well as the U.S. District Court
for the Eastern District of California.
Before attending
law school, I enjoyed a successful career in telecommunications
engineering and management. During that time, I held
numerous management positions with Pacific Bell/SBC,
and I was the Vice President of a private nation-wide
engineering and construction firm.
Following my 22
years in the telecom industry, I started a second career
with a prominent business-law firm where I successfully
combined my practical business experience and legal
training and assisted numerous clients in areas including
corporate law, business transactions, administrative
law, intellectual property, real estate law, employment
law, civil litigation and estate planning.
I am an active
member of the Sacramento County Bar and the State Bar
of California.
I am also a member of the McGeorge Law School Alumni
Association, the CSUS Alumni Association, the California
Lawyers for the Arts, the Italian Cultural Society of
Sacramento and the Anthony M. Kennedy American Inn of
Court.
In my spare time, I love to play golf and
enjoy participating in all manner of visual arts, especially
oil painting.
